Cancellations with refund must be made by email to Julie Motyka (jmotyka@archindy.org) by October 2, 2026.
On-site registration will not be available.
If you are not currently a member or your membership has lapsed, you must sign up for membership first in order to register with the member rate. [Note: membership is by calendar year].
If paying with check: After completing the membership form, send an email to Julie Motyka (jmotyka@archindy.org) with the subject line “member application started, please confirm membership” and wait for a confirmation email. Once you receive a confirmation, you can register for the meeting at the member price. You can pay for both with one check.

Scholarships
IU Indianapolis University Library Scholarship ***NEW***
SIA is partnering with Indiana University (IU) Indianapolis University Library to provide educational workshops related to creating and curating digital collections. From the Fall of 2026 through the Spring of 2028, SIA’s workshops will feature programming focused on copyright, digitization, metadata, and collection development, and University Library is offering scholarships to make the workshops more accessible to professionals at Indiana GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) organizations, especially those with little access to professional development funds or travel reimbursements. The workshops and scholarships are made possible through generous funding provided by the Indianapolis Foundation’s Library Fund.
This scholarship is able to provide up to 20 recipients with $253 to cover event registration and expenses associated with attending. Preference will be given to applicants that work for an Indiana organization or live in the state. Recipients must submit a headshot and are encouraged to write a reflection for publication in the SIA newsletter.
SIA Scholarships
Two additional scholarships will be awarded for the 2026 Fall Workshop. Both scholarships will receive a complimentary registration to the workshop and $200 to cover the expenses associated with attending. The two scholarships are the Thomas Krasean Student Scholarship and the John Newman Memorial Professional Development Scholarship.
Thomas Krasean Student Scholarship
Graduate students enrolled in a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, Master of Arts (MA) in History or Museum Studies program, or a related graduate program, and new professionals (up to five years of post-graduate work experience) are encouraged to apply.
John Newman Memorial Professional Development Scholarship
Anyone in the field of special collections and archives in the state of Indiana is eligible to apply for this scholarship. New employees and volunteers are especially encouraged to apply as well as applicants with limited professional development opportunities available through their institution.

SIA 2026 Fall Workshop Scholarship Application
The application deadline is Friday, September 11th, 2026 at midnight. The recipients will be notified in writing by September 18th, 2026.
The award recipients will be announced through the SIA listserv prior to the Fall Workshop. If the winner has already paid the workshop fee upon receipt of the scholarship, the fee paid will be refunded. Upon accepting the award, the recipient must submit a headshot along with a reflection of their experience at the Fall Workshop for publication in the next SIA News and Notes newsletter. Parking + Logistics
The SIA 2026 Fall Workshop will be held at the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis, Indiana. The address is 315 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Parking is available at the Senate Avenue Parking Garage across from the library. The address for the garage is 220 North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46202. The State Library has offered to validate parking, so please bring your ticket with you to the registration table for validation.
If you are interested in sharing a ride with other attendees to the workshop, please use the SIA listserv to find people in your area and facilitate a carpool arrangement.The building can be accessed via two entrances. The main entrance is on Ohio Street. The second entrance is off of Senate Avenue.
Accommodations
No official room block has been reserved for the 2026 SIA Fall Workshop. Accommodations may be available at local area hotels.
For attendees who are in need of a place to stay for the workshop, the Education Committee recommends visiting the Indianapolis Downtown website, or check the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association website.
Interesting Landmarks and Local Sites
Located in the historic downtown Indianapolis, the Indiana State Library is at the heart of it all for those wanting to learn more about and explore Indianapolis. Below are just a few of the sites within walking distance of the State Library. For more information, the Education Committee recommends visiting the Visit Indy website.
