Cancellations with refund must be made by email to Julie Motyka (jmotyka@archindy.org) by November 1, 2024.
On-site registration will not be available.
If you are not currently a member or your membership has lapsed, you must sign up for membership first in order to register with the member rate. [Note: membership is by calendar year].
If paying with check: After completing the membership form, send an email to Julie Motyka (jmotyka@archindy.org) with the subject line “member application started, please confirm membership” and wait for a confirmation email. Once you receive a confirmation, you can register for the meeting at the member price. You can pay for both with one check.
Ample free parking is available in the parking lot in front of the library off Cumberland Road and Library Plaza.
The building can be accessed via the main entrance facing the parking lot.
Check in will begin at 9:30 AM on the second floor, accessible via the stairs behind the front desk. If you have any questions, please ask the front desk staff for assistance.

No official room block has been reserved for the 2024 SIA Fall Workshop. Accommodations may be available at local area hotels. The Education Committee suggests the following options near the Hamilton East Public Library:

Two scholarships will be awarded for the 2024 Fall Workshop. Both scholarships will receive a complimentary registration to the workshop and $150 to cover the expenses associated with attending. The two scholarships are the Thomas Krasean Student Scholarship and the John Newman Memorial Professional Development Scholarship.
Graduate students enrolled in a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program, Master of Arts (MA) in History or Museum Studies program, or a related graduate program, and new professionals (up to five years of post-graduate work experience) are encouraged to apply.
Anyone in the field of special collections and archives in the state of Indiana is eligible to apply for this scholarship. New employees and volunteers are especially encouraged to apply as well as applicants with limited professional development opportunities available through their institution.
The application deadline is Friday, October 25, 2024 at midnight. The winners will be notified in writing by October 31, 2024.
Send a statement of 200-300 words about why the workshop will help you gain knowledge and experience useful in your volunteering efforts or career, along with your name, institution you work/volunteer for, and contact information. Submit your statement to Scholarship Committee Chair Sara Stefani (samastef@indiana.edu). In the email subject line please state the scholarship that you are applying for.
The award recipients will be announced through the SIA listserv prior to the Fall Workshop. If the winner has already paid the workshop fee upon receipt of the scholarship, the fee paid will be refunded. Upon accepting the award, the recipient must submit a headshot along with a reflection of their experience at the Fall Workshop for publication in the next SIA News and Notes newsletter.
