    Additional Information

The Indiana University Northwest Archives and Special Collections includes a rich and meaningful history worthy of historical preservation, interpretation, and access. Founded in 1973 by two IU Northwest faculty members, James B. Lane, Emeritus Professor of History and Ronald D. Cohen, Emeritus Professor of History (and led by IUN’s first archivist Stephen G. McShane, Emeritus Librarian), the Archives have established a tradition of community archiving and regional record keeping utilized by researchers from around the world. In 2023, the Archives celebrated its 50th anniversary and have grown to include over 500 accessioned collections housed on the 3rd floor of the John W. Anderson Library.
