Welcome to the Society of Indiana Archivists!
Who We Are and What We Do
The Society of Indiana Archivists (SIA) is an organization of archivists, researchers, and others who are actively concerned with establishing, developing, preserving, promoting, and using archival collections.
SIA provides a forum for the exchange of information and ideas related to archival collections and best practices, and it serves as a liaison among individuals and institutions working with archival collections in the state.
MAC Fall 2020 Symposium
SIA will not hold our regular fall workshop but instead encourages members to register for the MAC Symposium this October 9-10 at the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis.
Driving Outreach to Victory Lane
Do you feel like you're grinding your gears when it comes to outreach? While outreach should play a significant role in archival work, it often takes the backseat and we end up stranding our users at the side of the road. Are you revving your motor to find a programming solution at your institution? Has your presence in the community crashed?
Take a pit stop in Indianapolis, the car racing capital of the world, on October 9-10, 2020 for a tune-up on outreach and discover successful methods to engage your audiences. Outreach topics will be split among multiple speakers and are intended for students, archivists, librarians, and museum professionals of all experience levels - from drivers ed to Formula One.
Help SIA celebrate Indianapolis’ bicentennial with this special MAC Fall 2020 Symposium at the historic Indiana State Library. The outreach winner’s circle is in sight!
Registration opens in July 2020 with SIA members receiving a special discounted rate. Stay tuned for more details.
